Management

Both ENF and the Fund are managed by Enbridge Management Services Inc. (EMSI or the Manager). EMSI also manages the Fund’s subsidiary Enbridge Commercial Trust (ECT). EMSI also provides administrative services to ENF, the Fund and ECT.

The Manager is incorporated under the laws of Canada and is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Enbridge Inc. The head office of the Manager is located at 200, 425 - 1st Street S.W., Calgary, Alberta, T2P 3L8.

Byron Neiles
Byron Neiles was appointed Executive Vice President, Corporate Services on May 2, 2016. Mr. Neiles has oversight of Enbridge's Information Technology, Human Resources, Real Estate & Workplace Services, Supply Chain Management, Enterprise Safety and Operational Reliability, Public Affairs & Communications (including Corporate Social Responsibility), and Aviation groups.

Mr. Neiles had previously held the role of Senior Vice President, Major Projects, Enterprise Safety and Operational Reliability at Enbridge, and had been Senior Vice President of Major Projects since November 2011, after joining Enbridge's Major Projects group in April 2008.

Mr. Neiles has also acted as Vice President of Customer, Regulatory and Public Affairs, as well as Legal Affairs, with Enbridge Gas Distribution in Toronto. Prior to joining Enbridge Pipelines Inc. in Edmonton, in 1994, he was a Policy Advisor to two Canadian federal energy ministers in Ottawa, and held corporate affairs roles with an electricity and natural gas utility.

Mr. Neiles is a trustee of the Canadian Museum of Nature and the Makadiff Sports Corp.; additionally, he has been an active volunteer with numerous community organizations.

Mr. Neiles holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the University of Calgary’s Haskayne School of Business, a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in political science from the University of Regina, and is a graduate of the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School.

Mr. Neiles lives in Calgary with his wife Lisa and their three daughters.

John K. Whelen
John Whelen was appointed Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Enbridge Inc. on Oct. 15, 2014. Previously Enbridge’s Senior Vice President and Controller, Mr. Whelen has retained executive leadership for the company’s financial reporting function, while assuming responsibility for Enbridge’s tax and treasury functions.

Mr. Whelen has been part of the Enbridge team since 1992, when he assumed the Manager of Treasury role at Consumers Gas (now Enbridge Gas Distribution). Since that time, he has held a series of executive positions with increasing responsibility, including treasury, risk management, corporate planning and development, and financial reporting. Mr. Whelen served as the chief financial officer, and then president, of Enbridge Income Fund, during which time he led the business through a period of significant growth. Throughout his history with the company, Mr. Whelen has developed extensive experience in capital markets, and has been instrumental in securing billions of dollars in growth capital funding for Enbridge.

Mr. Whelen holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in finance from McMaster University in Hamilton, Ont., and a bachelor of science (BSc) degree in economics from the University of Victoria.

Perry F. Schuldhaus
Mr. Schuldhaus is the Vice President, Business Development, Enbridge Pipelines Inc. and also the President of Enbridge Income Fund Holdings Inc. He is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the Fund’s business. Mr. Schuldhaus has previously held the positions of Vice President, Upstream Business Development & Acquisitions, Vice President, Business Development and Director, Market Development & Acquisitions. All of these prior positions were with Enbridge Pipelines Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Enbridge Income Partners LP. Mr. Schuldhaus holds a Bachelors Degree in Engineering from the University of Alberta and has completed the comprehensive Finance for Senior Executives program at the Harvard Business School.

Wanda Opheim
Ms. Opheim is the Chief Financial Officer of ENF and the Senior Vice President, Chief Accounting Officer, Enbridge Inc.  Since joining Enbridge in 1991, she has held a number of positions, including Vice-President, Corporate Development & Planning and  Vice President, Treasury & Tax  of Enbridge Inc.  Wanda holds a Bachelor of Commerce. from the University of Alberta and is a Chartered Accountant.

Andrew M. Swales
Mr. Swales is the Director, Treasury of Enbridge Inc. He joined Enbridge in 1998 and has held the position of Director, Investment Review, Manager Corporate Development and other positions in both Edmonton and Calgary. Mr. Swales holds a Masters in Economic and Finance from the University of Alberta.

Jana C. Hordichuk
Ms. Hordichuk is the Director, Accounting, Enbridge Inc. Prior to joining Enbridge Inc., she held progressively senior accounting and finance roles within other organizations. Ms. Hordichuk holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Regina and is a Chartered Accountant.

Debra J. Poon
Ms. Poon is a Senior Legal Counsel of Enbridge Inc. Prior to joining Enbridge Inc., she practiced corporate, commercial and securities law at McCarthy Tétrault LLP (law firm), other national and regional law firms and the Ontario Securities Commission. Ms. Poon is a member of the Law Society of Alberta and the Law Society of Upper Canada. She holds a B.A. and LL.B. from the University of Alberta.
